Placement Year at Taylor and Lodge...
Millie's placement year took place at Taylor and Lodge, an in-house weaving and mending company based in Huddersfield. Within the mill the most luxurious fabric is designed and manufactured for suiting, jacketing and blazers using Dornier Fixed Rapier Looms.
Millie took on many roles that have advanced her skills and knowledge in all areas of weave and gained a wide insight of the manufacturing process of the fabrics produced daily. She helped draw in yarn for board trials and became part of the team quickly working alongside a welcoming group of people.
Millie also designed a blazer stripe collection and was given the opportunity to go down to London and visit Stella McCartney HQ and be involved in design meetings with New and Lingwood and Peckham Rye which was an experience within itself.
